How Service Providers can Start a Content Marketing Strategy from Scratch – Part 2

We pick back up on our conversation about content strategy this week as we discuss how service providers can utilize them to their advantage. Sam and I also cover content distribution and analysis.

We left off last discussing ways to get creative with content production and constructing an optimal content calendar.

Segment One:

Sam and I begin the first segment by diving into the basics of content redistribution and explaining the importance of different types of content. We explore the individual importance of blog posts, long-form guides, eBooks, videos and other creative ways and formats to “get the message out”. Sam then gives us his SEO insights, given his extensive knowledge, and provides us with actionable tips on how to optimize content for search engines to reel in interested readers for the contents specified goal.

Segment Two:

In this segment, Sam and I dive deeper to explore the best ways to promote content after it’s been created. We discuss common practices like utilizing topic clusters, managing social media for various objectives, and a few others. To polish off this segment, we discuss how to pinpoint where your ideal target market hangs out online.

Segment Three:

As we cross the halfway point in the show, Sam and I breakdown ways to distribute content on external platforms. We touch on essential content marketing strategies like influencer collaborations, guest posting, and many others. Using his expertise, Sam sheds some insight on how to choose the ideal platforms and ultimately how to highlight your expertise to your ideal audience.

Segment Four: To close out the last segment, Sam continues his explanation of finding the best opportunities for content circulation. We then give an overview on managing a content audit to ensure your efforts are trending in the right direction. This process involves congregating all of your content with tools like Screaming Frog, assigning grades to your content, and determining the best course of action with the information you have gathered.

This is a bona fide information-rich show. If you’re serious about getting your content strategy started or polishing up your existing one tune into this episode of This Week in Marketing.
